Association of Medical Assistants Associate Degree Programs -- Distance Education Associate of Applied Science in Medical Billing and Coding -- This online program provides students with the academic foundation and the critical skills needed in healthcare billing and coding practices, and the technologies that support them. Successful graduates will be well-prepared to enter the healthcare field as billing and coding specialist as both physician-based and in-patient-coders, with a valuable level of technological competence, interpersonal abilities, and an understanding of the value and importance of correct billing and coding. The program covers the necessary range of topics needed for a Billing and Coding Specialist including a general education in academic and technology subjects. The program also has a special emphasis on billing and coding skills, related ethical and legal issues a Billing and Coding Specialist will need to know, to office procedures for billing and coding including necessary computing practices. Required courses. Associate of Applied Science in Digital Graphic Design -- n this online program students will focus on graphic design theory and techniques which can support a professional career as a graphic designer or graphic artist. Students will learn the basics of art, color theory, format, design, digital publishing and how these are used in the corporate and business world. This program can help develop creative talents to produce effective print and multimedia designs in a practical career. Program features include a curriculum taught by industry professionals that utilizes classroom lectures, group forums, and hand-on desktop exercises. Students will practice within industry-specific graphic design software. Students successfully completing the program will have developed a portfolio which may be presented to prospective employers. Required courses A perspective student for online programs must possess a high school diploma or GED to be eligible for enrolment. Additionally, an admissions representative will interview the candidate by telephone to determine if the student’s level of computer literacy is sufficient to begin an online program. All diploma
programs are 48 credit hours and are designed to be completed in
four quarters. A Diploma
can be earned in any of the following programs: Required courses for all diploma programs. Many credit bearing courses may be taken as continuing education. What a wonderful way to transition from earning your high school equivalency to entering college in one of our Associate Degree or Diploma programs. Classes are available Monday through Thursday. Call the Admissions office for times and enrollment information. Employee Development and Personal Enrichment - Trumbull Business College has partnered with Education2go to offer you a catalog of over 250 online non-credit courses for continuing education, employee development, and personal enrichment. The courses are six weeks long with two lessons presented each week. Each course is facilitated by a highly qualified instructor and awards a certificate of completion and 2.4 CEUs. International Computer Drivers License - This course terminates in an internationally recognized certificate of basic computer literacy and covers seven key topic areas: Basic Concepts of IT, Operating Systems and File Management, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Database Management, Presentations, The Internet and Communication. This course is available online. However, students must come to the campus to register and to take a certification test for each of the topic areas.
